Continued Education

The Elementary curriculum at Mt. Zion Christian Academy is thoughtfully crafted to establish a comprehensive foundation in both reading and mathematics, equipping students with the essential skills needed for continued academic achievement. Daily instructional activities are designed to reinforce critical competencies such as reading comprehension, analytical thinking, and mathematical reasoning. These practices are complemented by regular teacher-designed assessments, which ensure that foundational concepts are mastered, enabling students to confidently approach new challenges and complex problem-solving tasks.

Phonics instruction is integral to our literacy program, especially in the early grades, where it plays a pivotal role in developing confident, capable readers. Students requiring additional support benefit from individualized interventions delivered by our dedicated team of tutors and assistants. Our partnership with Title I programs further enhances the resources available to students needing targeted help. Beyond academics, the curriculum is enriched with daily physical education and dynamic cultural arts programming. These weekly sessions offer students opportunities to explore diverse disciplines such as French, Steel Drums, Sign Language, Singing, and Praise Dancing, broadening their horizons and fostering creativity.

To ensure a well-rounded and engaging educational experience, we integrate meaningful activities beyond the classroom. Field trips, specialized learning materials, cultural enrichment programs, and expert guest presentations bring the curriculum to life, sparking curiosity and inspiring a deeper love of learning. Through this holistic approach, Mount Zion Christian Academy prepares students to excel academically while nurturing their creativity, physical well-being, and cultural awareness.
